Hello, and welcome to Blackwolf Newfoundlands! My name is Lisa Sersha, and together with my husband, Kerry, we have proudly owned and operated Blackwolf Kennels since 2002. Our kennel was originally located in Embarrass, MN, but in October of 2022, we relocated to a brand-new facility in Gilbert, MN. Even with the move, our mission remains the same: to provide top-quality dog boarding, training, behavioral counseling, and breeding services, specializing in our beloved Newfoundland dogs.
My passion for animals began long before Blackwolf Kennels. I spent nearly nine years working as a Head Veterinarian Technician, gaining hands-on experience in animal clinical care and emergency situations. While I loved my work, my true dream was always to open my own facility where I could offer the best care and training for dogs in our area.

Since opening Blackwolf Kennels, I have continued to expand my knowledge. I am a Certified Animal Professional Canine Trainer (graduating with honors in 2006 from the Animal Behavior College) and a mentor trainer through the college. I am also a Canine Good Citizen Evaluator through the AKC, a Certified Pet Care Technician through ABKA, and a Certified Canine Service Dog Trainer. My commitment to the welfare of animals has led me to take courses through FEMA for emergency animal assistance, and I regularly volunteer with local humane societies to assess and train adoptable dogs.
Specializing in well-bred Newfoundland puppies and German Shepherd puppies, we take pride in producing family-friendly, intelligent, and loyal companions. Our puppies are raised in a loving environment and are socialized from an early age.
Whether you need a safe, comfortable place for your dog to stay while you're away or professional grooming services to keep your dog looking its best, we offer a full range of care to meet your pet’s needs.
From basic obedience to advanced service dog training, our expert trainers use proven techniques to help dogs of all breeds become well-behaved companions. We also specialize in Newfoundland-specific obedience work, ensuring your dog thrives in a family setting.
Our Newfoundland breeding program is a labor of love. We have imported our dogs and carefully researched their pedigrees to ensure we meet the highest standards of Newfoundland breed characteristics, health, and conformation. Each family interested in adopting a puppy must complete a questionnaire and participate in a phone discussion or in-person meeting to ensure a good match. (And yes, I could talk for hours about these amazing dogs—so feel free to set aside some extra time!)

Because we are committed to responsible breeding, we often have a lengthy waiting list. Our first priority is to match our puppies with families who will provide them with a lifetime of love and care.
At Blackwolf Newfoundlands, our goal is simple: to offer the highest standard of care for your canine companions. Whether it’s breeding, training, or boarding, we approach everything with the same level of dedication and love that we have for our own dogs.

If you have any questions about our breeding program or canine training services, don’t hesitate to reach out to us. We’re happy to discuss how we can help you and your furry friend!
In closing, we love all animals—but the Newfoundland truly has our heart.
At Blackwolf Newfoundlands, our goal is to maintain the highest standards of structure, health, temperament, and longevity within the Newfoundland breed. Our Newfoundlands aren’t just part of a breeding program—they are a part of our family!

We believe in natural breeding practices, avoiding forceful or over-breeding methods. We trust that nature knows best. Each of our Newfoundlands is raised in a loving, family environment, never kenneled, and always socialized in a healthy pack setting, as dogs should be.
We prioritize the well-being of our dogs and never force breed or over-breed. We let nature take its course.
When our Newfoundlands retire from breeding, we don’t sell them. They remain a cherished part of our family, living out their days surrounded by love and care.
Our Newfoundlands are raised in our home, receiving individual attention, socialization, and affection, ensuring they are well-adjusted and ready to thrive in a family environment.
As small, passionate breeders, Lisa and Kerry are committed to building lifelong relationships with each family that brings home one of our Newfoundlands. We are always here to provide support, advice, and guidance as you raise your new companion.
All of our puppies are started on the most nutritional canine meal available—the Raw Diet—to ensure their optimal health from the very beginning. Each puppy comes with:
